Fact Check: The satirical “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP), launched by Abhijeet Dipke, recently claimed that several of its digital platforms—including its main Instagram account, personal profile, backup page, X account, and website—had been compromised. The movement, which emerged in mid-May amid widespread public anger and online discussions, later announced that it had regained access to its Instagram account. So, what is the truth behind the claim?
Claim
Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke claimed that the movement’s main Instagram account, personal Instagram profile, backup account, X handle and website were no longer under their control. A day later, another post from his X account claimed that the Instagram account had been recovered.
On May 23, 2026, Dipke posted from his @abhijeet_dipke account, claiming that action had been taken against multiple CJP-related platforms. According to the post, the main Instagram page, his personal Instagram account, the backup account, and other associated platforms were no longer accessible.
He wrote:
“Please note that we currently do not have access to any of our platforms. Any post made after this should not be considered an official statement from the Cockroach Janta Party.” (Archive)

Responding to this development, an X user operating under the handle @Cockroach4India claimed that no serious issue had actually occurred and alleged that neither the accounts nor the website had been hacked. The user described the controversy as a “victim card toolkit” and made several political allegations. (Archive)
•No serious issues raised by them till now
•No account or website got hacked, thats victim card toolkit
•He is another project of kejriwal like dhruv rathee
•Aam Aadmi Party is losing its hold in Punjab, and Indian National Congress seems to have the edge this time.… https://t.co/TbRj8gfkxO

However, this account appears to be significantly older and its username was later changed to @Cockroach4India. Some social media users have reportedly mistaken it for an official CJP account. Supporters of Cockroach Janata Party have been posting messages making similar claims online.
Verdict
Multiple posts have been published from Abhijeet Dipke’s personal X account, including one stating, “We are back on Instagram! Have recovered the account.” However, Dipke has not yet issued a live statement or video confirming whether he personally published these posts after the alleged compromise.
At the time of publication, there is no independent evidence confirming whether all affected accounts and platforms were actually hacked or whether all of them have been fully recovered. While posts from Dipke’s X account claim that the Instagram account has been restored, the broader claims regarding the alleged compromise and complete recovery remain unverified. A direct public statement or video confirmation from Dipke would be required to independently verify the claim.
