Timely India exists to provide India’s 15 million+ student community with accurate, timely, and actionable educational news. Every exam notification we publish, every result we report, and every admit card release we cover is verified directly against official government sources before it goes live on timelyindia.com. We would rather be second and right than first and wrong.
2. Sourcing Standards
Timely India’s editorial team relies exclusively on primary, official sources for all exam-related reporting:
- National Testing Agency (NTA): nta.ac.in, jeemain.nta.ac.in, neet.nta.nic.in for JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET, and other NTA exams.
- UPSC: upsc.gov.in for Civil Services, CDS, NDA, and all UPSC examinations.
- SSC: ssc.gov.in and regional SSC portals for all Staff Selection Commission examinations.
- CBSE: cbse.gov.in and cbseresults.nic.in for board exams and results.
- State Boards: Official state education board websites for state-level board exam news.
- University Portals: Official university and counselling body websites for admissions news.
- Government Ministries: MoE (Ministry of Education), MHA, DoPT, and relevant government departments for policy news.
We never publish exam news based on social media posts, WhatsApp forwards, coaching institute announcements, or unofficial sources without independent verification from the official source.
3. Our Editorial Team
Timely India is founded by Subhash Kumar (Founder & Chief Editor, 5 years in educational journalism) and helmed editorially by Priya Sharma (Editor-in-Chief, MA Journalism, Delhi University, 10 years). Our team of six full-time journalists and two research editors includes specialists in competitive examinations (SSC, UPSC, Banking), university admissions, scholarships, and current affairs. All team members are listed on our Authors page with their credentials.
Every article published on Timely India is reviewed by at least one senior editor before publication. Breaking news that requires expedited publication is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated senior editor. No article is published without a named author who is accountable for the content.
4. Editorial Independence
Timely India maintains a strict separation between our editorial and commercial/advertising operations. The following principles govern our editorial independence:
- Advertisers and commercial partners have no influence over our editorial decisions, story selection, or content.
- Sponsored or promotional content, if any, is clearly labelled as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement” and is visually distinct from editorial content.
- We do not accept payment for positive coverage of any exam, institution, coaching centre, or government body.
- Our editorial team does not affiliate with or endorse any coaching institute, study material publisher, or education company. Any mention of third-party products or services in articles is purely for the reader’s information and is not a commercial endorsement.
5. Accuracy and Fact-Checking
Before any exam notification, result, admit card release, or syllabus change is published, our fact-checking process requires:
- The reporter identifies the official source URL and verifies the announcement.
- The article draft includes the official source link for reader verification.
- A senior editor performs an independent source check.
- For complex policy or syllabus changes, the article is reviewed by a subject-matter expert on our team.

6. Corrections Policy
Timely India is committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. Our corrections process:
- Readers who identify an error can report it via our Contact page or by emailing corrections@timelyindia.com.
- All error reports are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief within 24 hours of receipt.
- Verified errors are corrected within 24 hours of the editorial team being informed, with a “Correction” note appended to the article clearly identifying what was changed and when.
- For significant factual errors (e.g., wrong exam dates, incorrect eligibility figures), a correction notice is also published in our breaking ticker.
- We do not silently edit or delete content containing errors. Corrections are always made transparently with a note to the reader.
7. Distinction Between News and Analysis
Timely India clearly distinguishes between three types of content: (1) News reports — factual, time-sensitive reports of official announcements; (2) Analysis/Guides — expert interpretation of exam trends, cutoff analysis, or preparation strategies, labelled as such; and (3) Opinion — clearly labelled first-person perspectives from named contributors. News reports never contain the author’s personal opinion; analysis pieces are clearly distinguished from hard news.
