Recruitment Board Chairperson Renuka Mishra has been removed from the post in the UP Police Recruitment Paper Leak case. In his place, Rajiv Krishna has been given the responsibility of the Recruitment Board. More than 48 lakh candidates had participated in more than 60 thousand constable recruitment in UP. The exam was canceled after the paper leak.
DG Recruitment Board Chairman Renuka Mishra has been removed due to lapse in constable recruitment paper leak case and negligence in registering FIR. He is currently kept in waiting list. After the cancellation of the examination, the Internal Assessment Committee of the Recruitment Board was not able to submit its report nor was an FIR registered in the matter. DG Vigilance Rajeev Krishna has been given additional charge of the Recruitment Board.
At the same time, in the RO/ARO recruitment examination, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission had removed the controller of examination after internal investigation and had also filed an FIR.
UP constable exam will be held again in 6 months
The paper of the written examination of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment held across the state on 17 and 18 February 2024 was leaked, after which students across the country created a ruckus and then orders were given by the Yogi government to cancel the examination and conduct the examination again in 6 months. STF is still investigating this incident of paper leak. In this offline examination, more than 48 lakh youth took the examination in 2 days.
A similar situation happened in 56 districts of Uttar Pradesh regarding the examination of RO-ARO i.e. Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer held on 11th February. The candidates had surrounded the office of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Prayagraj alleging paper leak. On February 29, a case of leakage of Biology and Mathematics paper in Intermediate in Agra also came to light. Regarding which Uttar Pradesh Board has constituted an inquiry committee.
Earlier, the UP STF team had arrested two accused of the gang involved in leaking the police recruitment examination. The two arrested accused were identified as Ajay Singh Chauhan and Sonu Singh Yadav, residents of Prayagraj.
